I am a stay-at-home-mom who loves to create. I have had a passion for art my entire life. I can remember drawing for hours on end as a small child. However, I never knew that I could paint until I was an adult.
After my father passed away in 2003 (I was only 23 years old at the time), I was so desperately sad that not much brought me joy in life. My brother-in-law happened to be taking a college art class at the time, and decided to bring his paints to my house. I sat down with him, and began to paint, and loved it. As I continued to paint, God began to bring wonderful joy back into my life, little by little.
After a few years of painting, I realized that children’s art brought me the most joy, so it became my focus. I am a mother of four, so children are VERY near and dear to my heart. When my sister-in-law convinced me to open my own Etsy Shop in 2009, I wanted to find the perfect shop name. My father had nicknamed me “Little Bitty” when I was a child, so I thought that it would be a perfect tribute to him. So, my etsy shop, Little Bitties was born.
I painted for several years while my children were younger. I would paint late at night and during their nap times. As life grew more and more busy, I found less and less time to paint. I would paint here and there when family or friends would request an order, but, eventually, my Etsy shop got pushed to the side, and “life” took first place. It was not until 2015 that I was able to merge my love for painting and creativity into another passion of mine- real estate.
In the fall of 2015, my husband and I took a big leap of faith and purchased a run down property in our small hometown. And by run down, I mean it had sat empty for 8.5 years with the only tenants of the home being raccoons. That project ended successfully, and so in 2016, we decided to tackle our next project. A 1929 foursquare farmhouse. Our second project also ended well, and so we are currently looking forward to the next home to renovate.
I am excited to see what God will do next in our lives. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
